Wrong.
The F-35 has a higher thrust-to-weight ratio than the mirage and so better acceleration and rate of climb up to Mach 1. However, the Mirage has lower supersonic drag and so can continue to accelerate to over Mach 2 whilst the F-35 sacrifices max speed for much greater maneuverability.
