That's unfortunately what's normally expected from Avmed these days. Not only do they buck-pass all their decision-making to "specialists" (who in many cases don't want to make a decision either, but are very happy to take your money because, after all, you're making squillions as a pilot, right?!?) but they hold veto powers over the "specialists" recommendations anyway.. and can (and do) quite literally tell you you're out of a job with no reason or remedy at all. In any other sophisticated country you might think they're asking for a bribe.. but they can't legally accept those either over here, so that leaves you stuffed, high and dry. After years of this it seems to me that Avmed now runs entirely on "who you know".. and that's hardly "safe" is it?

Funny you mention that. We got lasered only just last night abeam Morwell on the way back to YMMB via YLTV.. but that was in a Cessna. The moron was almost right beneath us so I doubt I'd have noticed in my Piper. Low Wings Forever!!!
