If course, with a shared pool of aircraft you don't need more jets for a second squadron - so maybe 617 gets them Mon/We/Fri one week and Tue/Thur the next.......
Indeed, it's the Emperor's new clothes. It's exactly the same with the plan to operate fewer Typhoons over the same number of squadrons, it rather undermines the meaning of the term 'squadron'.
