1. Does anyone know anything would the triangular ridge immediately forward of the Avro 707A with its dorsal intake? Is this supposed to do the same thing as a splitter plate or was it just to mimick a NACA intake? Was the ridge supposed to cause tumbling air that would energise the boundary layer going into the engine? This link has a picture of what I am talking about.
