Smoothbore is the norm & Challenger is the oddity.
The choice of rifled barrel is to do with the UK's liking for HESH rounds which perform better when fired from a rifled barrel. Smoothbore is used for APFSDS fin/sabot rounds where rifled isn't an advantage. Challenger 3 will be smoothbore 120mm.
