If anyone makes it passed literally 29 pages of topic derailment, here is a detailed overview of the entire assessment process from someone who has done it recently as an A380 candidate:

Step 1 - Apply:
Apply online from the latest position. If you're eligible based on the initial requirements they'll get back to you by email requesting more info and documents.

Step 2 - Online Saville Test and Abstract Reasoning:
If everything is fine with your documents they will email you with a small congratulations and ask you to book a time to do a Saville (Personality test) and Abstract reasoning test (Finding the next sequence of shapes). This is colloquially known as the psychometric test. All done online.

Step 3 - Online HR interview:
Should you pass step 2, they will again email you with a small congratulations and ask you to go online and book a slot for an online HR interview test online. It was done through Microsoft Teams with an HR rep and an interviewer who is technically proficient with aviation.

Step 4 - 2 day assessment in Dubai:
If everything is okay with your HR interview you will be emailed again with yet another congrats and an invitation to come to Dubai. From here you can negotiate a suitable time, tickets, visas and travel details - all through email.
  • Day 1:
    • Once you arrive in Dubai, Day 1 will consist of a brief welcome, the COMPASS test, a document check and the SIM assessment. If you come from airbus there is a chance you get on an A320 SIM and the exercises consist of a visual circuit, V1 cut, single engine go around, raw data and a very small CRM/decision making exercise. They do not want to see SOP, procedural or system knowledge. Just that you have good stick and rudder skills and have good overall decision making skills.
  • Day 2:
    • You will then go back to the hotel and wait for a phone call to tell you if you have been successful. Some people can be asked to repeat only certain aspects of day1. If you are successful you will then do your medical exam and some people may be asked to do additional psychometric tests (500 personality questions and a brief chat with a psychologist). Once all this is done you will return home.
Step 5 - References and Security checks:
You will then get an email asking for references, which has to be from your management or training department and a final security check. At this stage they are still evaluating everything.

Step 6 - Final congrats, contract signage and advise to resign:
Once everything has been checked they will now email you as to a good time to have a phone call. On the phone call you will receive a final congrats and negotiate potential starting dates. This is also where they may inform you that you haven't been successful. Once that's done you will receive an email to sign onto a portal and sign a contract digitally as well as all your pay breakdowns. Once that's done you will receive a final email stating it is safe to resign at the earliest.

Since most of this info is common knowledge, I'll also include some commonly asked questions about the process:

How long before x?:
Everything happened extremely quickly between all the above steps - within days of each other. The only time it took a relatively long time was after coming home from the assessment in Dubai. Between step 4 and step 5 it took roughly a month and between step 5 and step 6 it took roughly 2 weeks.
Please keep in mind things might have changed recently as recruitment may be slowing down.

I've applied but not heard back:
My advise would be to make sure your application is with the latest job offer and not an old one. If in doubt email [email protected] with your application number. They are extremely helpful and reply promptly.

I was unsuccessful during x, how long before I can apply again?:
1 year, unless something has changed recently.

Which fleet will I be assigned if successful?:
Was told categorically from the recruitment team, Airbus goes to 380, Boeing goes to 777, unless something has changed recently.

Hope this helps
