Consider that the average pair should last at least 10 years with 2-3 re-soles and maybe new elastics on the sides, you might spend a grand total of $1,200 on them over 10 years. That’s $120 a year, hardly expensive and warranting of only for special occasions.

Plus the more you wear them the more comfortable they become.

I didn’t know that people’s choice in footwear was something that could be criticised by others (for the RM critics). They fit the criteria for black leather shoes don’t they?
