Asturias - it is Funafuti
Originally a 1943 coral aggregate strip - re surfaced in 1992 - hence the military vehicles- I recall the soccer and volleyball games on the strip being interrupted by the wailing siren - giving notice of the incoming AMI HS 748 or the Fiji Air Heron
One the criticisms of the ungraded project was that given Funafuti's lack of water resources - culvert channels to catch the infrequent rainfall l were not constructed
