As always, a good discussion: but don’t shoot the messenger.

The two key points worth emphasising:
  1. The lack of proper training.
  2. The lack of required documentation (when/whether to recompute).
The OP was unfortunate to be flamed for lack of knowledge - but how do you achieve that in today’s world?
