This means that Vancouver will no longer be served by a Canadian carrier from London Gatwick. Vancouver has been continuously served from London Gatwick by various Canadian carriers over the years on scheduled and charter flights. First direct non stop flights between Vancouver to London Gatwick started in 1968 with a ABC flight on a CP Air DC8.
I'm aware of the fact that British Airways are starting London Gatwick to Vancouver for summer 2023 but I wonder if Air Transat will at some point resurrect their own Vancouver to London Gatwick flights.
I very much doubt it. In fact Air Transat in recent years had non stops Vancouver to Gatwick, to Manchester and to Glasgow. They have pulled back all operations to Toronto and Montreal bases with only daily connections to Vancouver.
