Article seems to be having a bet both ways: "attempting to land on an oil rig platform" and later "while trying to take off from a Gulf of Mexico oil platform". The FAA summary makes it more clear what apparently happened, which reminds me of the USMC Sea Knight that was lost when it made a fast approach to a USN ship and one of its main gear got snagged in the netting: https://www.washingtonpost.com/archi...-1e03b0798aae/
