Possibly Kamikaze in its original sense as a divine wind (typhoon) that comes out of the blue to rescue a nation in peril, such as the one(s) that destroyed the invading Mongol fleet(s) in Japan's Hakata Bay in 1274 and 1281.
Thus an unexpected and unlikely weapon appearing on the scene and tipping the balance of war against an overwhelming invader.
