How close do you want the ATSB to investigate the accident ? How far do you take it? …Maybe their recommendation would be that all Australian pilots should have airline standard training and licensing and only fly airline standard aircraft under full ATC control..

Perhaps if it were say the third of type ultralight to lose a wing in the last year then you would expect the ATSB to have a look-see.

At any rate, it appears the Police are looking into it so it ain’t case closed just yet.
