Some of you guys are a little narrow minded. When wx is not a factor, I generally set the radar tilt to 0 degrees. When you are doing your instrument scan, it's an
additional tool that is useful in picking up 'largeish' aircraft in your area.
Above the South China Sea in pre-TCAS days, it was a godsend.
Judging by some of the responses here, it's not everyone's cupp-a-tea.
