But what kind of outcome would be positive? The PAX operators have moved to pastures new, cargo similarly. Clearly they had no choice, but even if hypothetically a new buyer were found that took over the airport, and reopened to commercial traffic where would the business come from? Are TUI and Wizz going come return? Possibly, but unlikely. If the cargo operators have found they have viable alternatives will they be prepared to come back?
I fear Finningley as a commercial airport is now a dead duck whether or not Peel flog it.
