Yep. Usually the year after a bad flu season there is a drop in all-cause numbers. An artefact of the flu causing the earlier death of those who were 12 to 24 months away from departing due other morbidities. The USA data supports that with at least 85% of those claimed dying ‘from’ the china virus having at least four other co-morbidities. For my thoughts, I’d say still to early to tell just what the numbers are telling us for New Zealand. NZ had severely stupid lock-downs which may have just caused a lag in the inevitable. The current raise in all-cause may be an artefact of all the lock-down created un-diagnosed heart or cancer issues playing out… or it could be an artefact of the vaccines.
