Obviously I don't know what Magma / Chapman Freeborne are bringing in from Kenya, but the supermarket shelves would suggest stuff like green beans which don't have the same shelf life as say citrus or potatoes from Spain that as you quite correctly say come in by sea and Eurotunnel by the truck load. That said broccoli comes in OK by road from Spain. The problem for all this trucked stuff, including the former DSA business is just what happens when full import and port health checks are introduced at the likes of Dover and Portsmouth.
l am hoping that the change of leadership in the UK will usher in an era of way less bellicose jingoism and a great deal more pragmatic trading arrangements between trusted nations.
