While you could probably get some batteries to 'explode' (plenty of hydrogen around Lead-acid batteries for example) I doubt many, if any, of the current aircraft offerings would use such for their energy storage.

likely to explode or even catch on fire than a few litres of avgas in a tank. Whether that would change as batteries come closer to the energy density of fossil fuel is another question, but I don't think it's a foregone conclusion.
