Let's remember when we only had W6, large parts of the Ibis were block booked for crews doing the early outbound. It's only recently that W9 have taken these all over and now locally based crews so they are no strangers to doing crew overnights. I suspect crews would like doing longer sectors rather than their usual trunk routes.
As far as LGW getting these routes, Wizz have a history of trying LTN first, most recently the new Jordan route.
