PPL indeed - was to figure out whether I actually liked what the studying entailed as well as just bumbling around in the sky.
Granted my sponsors agreed the instructor was good for my PPL, I can assure you there is no digging them out of the marketing hole of airline partners and putting 18,000 stripes on my shoulders during training!
