KLM will never generate mass travel from their UK hubs because of the price they charge. They have been the main operator at Norwich for decades because of the exploitation of the oil and gas industry but very few normal passengers fly from the airport. Back in my day in the 1980’s Dan Air were the main operator at Cardiff running HS746 turbo props but supported by the oil and gas industry later to be replaced by Loganair. The annual bucket and spade brigade are not enough to support an airport and sadly Cardiff has never done a deal with Ryanair and Easyjet which would ramp up their traffic. I think EGFF has to take a new look at where their business is coming from and transatlantic airfreight is an opportunity.
