Russian conscripts get Nagant/Mosin rifles, designed in 1890/91, and obsolete already at the times of WWII.
As per that later post from the guy correcting the first photo, LDNR units with sniper PU scoped Mosin's have been seen in early days of the Russian invasion and these appear to be fresh out of the storage crate PU snipers as well. They had 1000's still in storage. If you have been trained (not a certainty here of course) a factory fresh PU Mosin is still a very effective sniper rifle out to 600-700m range, and the 7.62x54R round will ruin your day at that range quite happily.
They do have a big drawback in that they have a ferocious muzzle blast, so not ideal on a modern (one side at least) battlefield.
