Putin is cornered thus dangerous indeed. 300.000 conscripts armed with steel helmets and AK-74 will end up as пушечное мясо (cannon fodder). Their best tank units are defeated, remaining stocks of mothballed armour are less and less usable, air force cannot gain air superiority and Putin will grow desperate more and more.
Even if he would use tactical nuke on the battlefield it will not bring him much advantage. Though most of the people are too afraid to even think about it the only option Putin has in order to win, is to drop nuclear warhead on Odessa (man, how he hates that city...) and then some other major town and if Ukraine wouldn't give in then he would wipe out Kyiv too. He would be the worst war criminal in history but does he give a damn?

We can only hope that he will not dare to go that far or his generals and army will deny such order. He is doomed but the question is if he will pull the rest of the humanity with him into abyss.
