Thus tweet reminds me of the Soviet paranoia on maps: The SU was full of military installations, and they were paranoid that maps could be used against them by pinning the locations and sending the maps to the arch enemy. So to make sure that the maps could not be used against them, all the maps were distorted by stretching them in different ways and even replacing rivers or lakes on the map prior to publication. Problem solved, n'est-ce pas? Actually... no. The distortion itself gave up the military sites, the more distorted the map the more important military installation was nearby.
This was continued all the way to the bitter end despite the fact that western satellites had already mapped the entire USSR multiple times. The sheer magnitude of Russian paranoia and craziness is just staggering. And it has been so since the dawn of man and seems to continue till the end of time.
And now the great Russian army is apparently using those maps. No wonder they are constantly hitting civilians if they use those distorted and outdated maps.
