Here's an example of the capabilities of the modern day Russian army. In this tweet we are told to be seeing couple of companies’ worth of T-80 tanks of the 4th Guards Tank Division.
The 4th Guards is part of the 1st Guards Tank Army, located close to Moscow and generally considered the elite of the regular Russian army. Their task in case of war against NATO is to be the rapid deployment force and the spear head taking out NATO forces.
They were already defeated in Kyiv in March with 400 troops claimed KIA/MIA/WIA. Now they've been defeated in Kharkiv. So the elite Russian army with the best kit available and most thorough training has been defeated by the Ukrainians TWICE in 7 months being in essence unfit for combat, probably for years.
