Argentinian troops in the later stages of the Falklands suffered similar privations, but had nowhere to go. RF troops have a much shorter walk home.
Undersupplied troops won't be in a position to put up much of a fight come winter.
Actually the Argentine troops had huge stocks of food and ammo in Stanley and the grunts in the hills (only 5 miles away) may have been cold but were well stocked with ammo and had mobile field-kitchens on site. On the other hand, our guys were down to their last magazines by the time the surrender was negotiated.
I suspect that morale distribution is fairly similar in this conflict!
