Opened P1 up this morning, re-seated things, diconnected the MB etc and generally made sure everything looked in place.

Can't get either USB or PS/2 mouse to work under any circumstances, including safe mode. In fact the whole thing is
because without the mouse it is unusable
The only thing I can think of is to replace the MB
If I do that will I also have to buy another HD in order to transfer the contents of my original HD ?
