It lets the 'European-Russian' REMF's know that they're just as likely to be hit as the 'Asian-Russian' grunts they care so little about. There are already anecdotal reports of widespread desertions and anything that fosters a sense of hopelessness and fear among these bastards is all to the good. They are being hurt badly now.
