Might be down to excessive fees. Blue Air would have been subject to maximum charges at Luton for this flight while Southend would have been much cheaper. When the seat price was only £12.53 inbound the name of the game is minimising losses.
The inbound to SEN was virtually a positioning flight and Blue Air put those seats on sale only on the day of the flight I'm told - selling 17 seats. The outbound to OTP carried 155 pax.
