Basing a couple of aircraft at smaller regional airports doesn't fit the LCC model.
Consider some of the failures:
WizzAir at Doncaster
EasyJet/Ryanair/WizzAir at Southend
TUIfly at Coventry
Jet2 at Blackpool
EasyJet at EMA
BMI Baby at Teesside
... and I'm sure there are others.
