Of course- you supplied better information- I DID say
AFAIK- as, that's what I believe but stand to be corrected- which you have.

YThat may be true, but it demonstrates your lack of understanding of the metric. Normalizing pay for block hour allows an apples for apples comparison. If a JQ Capt is on 200k for 75 hours, but a Virgin Capt is on 190k for 40 hours, only an idiot would claim the JQ pilot is more highly paid. To that end, in normal times (ie, not an unprecedented global pandemic), the chances of a JQ pilot doing 56 hours in a month are near nil. You're always at 75 hours, and more often than not, significantly over. So given equal block hours, the hourly rate is what matters, not the base salary.
I've worked in systems like this for the last 32 years. You can take your "you don't understand" and shove it. A higher min guarentee is a better deal for leave, sick leave, long service- it means you are GUARENTEED MORE. Yes, someone on a lower base/guarentee MAY might even PROBABLY WILL earn the same or more, but they are't GUARENTEED more- so saying "Jetstar pay 150k for 56 hours" is simply factually wrong.
