Hello, Vueling pilot here.
From what i´ve heard, there will be a call for October, now, as you say, it is very possible that it will be for the 737, that is, people with experience.
A lot of anger for many reasons:
The change to 737 is due simply to the beef that Qatar has with Airbus (remember that Qatar has 25% of IAG shares) Confirmed by people from the finance department, that economically the change makes no sense. However, there are going to be managers at Vueling who, staying only for 5 years, are going to get some juicy bonuses due to the Boeing order.

Vueling are going to be the only losers with 737 on property instead of leased, an aircraft that in my opinion has few years left before they release the new 797 and that it is very likely that its 321 (the 737-10) will not even be able to be certified with the consequent loss of operational capacity with respect to Airbus fleets.

It will be a single fleet and at IAG they want to sell the idea, together with Boeing, that the fleet transition will take 7 years, which is a big fat lie, in the best case it would be 10 to 15 years.
They are going to hire TREs from outside who are going to rise above the ranks and the seniority list to captains who were already thinking of being TRE.
They are going to hire LSC´S from outside who are going to go above the ranks and the seniority list to captains who were already thinking of being LSC's.
And of course they are going to hire a lot of copilots with experience in 737 who are going to take the rest of the copilots up the ladder when the time to upgrade comes.
There are already 9 co-pilots who were released for captain just before the pandemic that Vueling never programmed them as commanders and they are still co-pilots who at the moment are already sucking up the return of the leaves of absence, which are 70 commanders who return from China and live poorly in the wizzairs and so from al around Europe. Thanks to the company and SEPLA.
I don't know if I left something out, Vueling has never been a company to make a career out of unless you lived and where in the company very soon and caught command in one of the good bases.
The operation of BCN is disgusting and sucks , and yes, with the new agreement you earn more money but you are still below easy jet and proper legacy airlines. There are stbys every month and in the stbys you can get 18 hours of activity. If the STBY starts very early in the morning, it also does not start counting until 6 am.
Also the average age is very young so you wont upgrade to captain as early as it used to be, and more now due to the 737 situation.
Ask what you want and if I have the answer i´ll be happy to answer.
