We live in a post Covid world where people don’t want to work 24/7 shift pattens, as there are other opportunities away from the airport with more social hours. Even before Covid some Luton based companies were employing permanent recruitment agencies to replace staff who were moving on every week. My son lasted around a year and that was enough. As for letting other airport take up the slack, that is fine by me, as if people want an airport job those jobs are available now. No doubt we can expect more annual job fairs, as the airport companies struggle to find staff regardless of expansion.
Expansion of Luton or any airport cannot be seen in a good light if people believe in climate change. If people don’t give a monkeys then that is fair enough, but that is a discussion for Jet Blast.
