The ‘consultation’ will run until the end of August. However, Peel Group has reportedly told staff that – under no scenario – will it remain operational under Peel Group ownership. Unless the local authority steps in to buy the site to keep the airport open, it will close at the end of the Summer flying season in late October.
In business terms this kind of 'consultation' is generally a box ticking exercise, the decision having already been made, sadly.
Many of us have been through them before.
