Controllers are then having to request additional information such as Aircraft Type (ATIS info and QNH they can obviously pass on). Flying with European colleagues, I keep reminding them to state the QNH (if we are already descending to Altitude), Aircraft Type and ATIS Information (letter). They are naturally questioning me about where it's stated. Anyone know the background here?

Thanks
Only was an ATCO for a short 4 years before I started flying, and that was quite a while ago. Still, never seen a strip without the aircraft type. Why would ATC ever have to ask????
