Luton was opened 80+ years ago wasn’t it? Even if homes near the flight path pre date that I doubt if more than a handful of residents have occupied those homes for that period.
Same issue at Liverpool. ‘New’ runway was opened in 1966…that’s two generations ago for most current residents of Speke and Hale. They have purchased property in the full knowledge they are near an airport. Doesn’t mean airports shouldn’t strive to be better neighbours though. Or that developers need to be more thoughtful about their choice of housing sites.
