Information to be passed upon first contact with London

Once upon a time, both LIDO and Jepp charts used to detail which information pilots are to transmit upon first contact with Approach Radar/Director when coming into London airports. As far as I can tell, that information has been removed. The result is more and more pilots are calling up without passing any information other than cleared level/altitude. Controllers are then having to request additional information such as Aircraft Type (ATIS info and QNH they can obviously pass on). Flying with European colleagues, I keep reminding them to state the QNH (if we are already descending to Altitude), Aircraft Type and ATIS Information (letter). They are naturally questioning me about where it's stated. Anyone know the background here?

Thanks
