I'm really surprised that Bamboo Airways chose to serve London Gatwick along with London Heathrow. I would have thought that they would have chosen to fly to Paris instead. The airline only has two Boeing 787-9 currently in service with two more to be delivered by October 2022.
I wonder how Bamboo Airways entering the London and Frankfurt markets have affected the national carrier Vietnam Airlines.
With Bamboo Airways planned international expansion in Europe and Australia I can't see four Boeing 787-9 aircraft covering it all. Bamboo Airways are also trying to replicate Vietnam Airlines in making both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City into major transfer hubs. Is the market big enough to warrant two major Vietnamese long haul airlines. South Korea have come to the conclusion that having two long haul airlines serving the country is not feasible long term. It's one of the major factors for the anticipated merger between Asiana and Korean Air.
