Thanks you for your condolences. Sorry for the delay. Had to get hold of his log book.
His first lesson was on July 19th 1969 in ZS-FTX a Cherokee 140 at Cradock airfield in South Africa. He was living there at the time working on railway signalling. His first solo was September 28th in ZS-FTX again at Cradock. He did his PPL Test according to his logbook on 25th December 1969 again in ZS-FTX at Cradock. Images of ZS-FTX can be seen on GG until quite recently. On 28th Dec '69 he converted to C172 ZS-EHH. Can't find any pictures. By May 1971 he'd moved onto a Beech B19 ZS-NLK. He continued flying in South Africa and by the time he left he'd accumulated 550 hours. (375 solo). There was then a gap in his log book of 10 years.

Next entry on 22nd December 1996 was in C172 VH-RQJ in Queensland Australia where he was working based in Brisbane. RQFC. In 1999 he was in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and his first flight on 25th April 1999 flew C172 9M-AZF at RSFC. He obtained a Malaysian PPL at sometime. His last flight was on 4th December 2021 at Subang I think (WMSA?)

Total hours 776.35, 533.40 solo, a few hours night flying too. He was still living in KL when he died on 14th May 2022 which was his 81st birthday. I know he had a few hours on R44's in Malaysia too but there must be another logbook.
Please PM me for more info if interested.
