Think the principle is the same as area bombing in WW2, just shorter range weapons.
ABSOLUTE RUBBISH!!! Smothering a target with artillery is a pure and simple war crime. Smothering the 'target' with artillery does not conform to the Geneva Convention. The principle in WW2 of 'area bombing' is a red herring. Civilian collateral damage is not an acceptable policy just to 'that way, all gets hit'.
