With a stopover in Wuhan? You are probably right on the ride, Lonewolf. It is apparently over 28 months or so since Xi stepped out of the country, a reason being put forward is the concern of a coup by the military leaders who have been in Xi's anti-corruption sights. Prosecution & dismissal of 160 Generals in 10 years for some spectacular corruption is not without its own risks. China's military corruption seems to be similar in extent to Russia, except Xi has been trying to stop (or control) the corruption; Putin is hardly attempting to stop his own handiwork.
Would Putin be happy to walk out of Russia while there is any chance of a coup in absentia?
