The "land of the morning calm" may be a preview of the outcome in Ukraine, should Russia not reverse its unfortunate choice of camping grounds. departing out of Gimpo or Incheon to the east was always interesting at night, off to the south is a sea of light and associated activity of an industrious country. off to the north, jet black darkness. Not a good look. A similar paranoia exists in NK as in Russia or is at least applied as a casus belli.
Kherson is a potential Incheon parallel, but then, should Belarus become a card-carrying player again for Russia, then Ukraine faces its own problems there. The north border is pretty well surveilled nowadays, so surprise is not likely.
