The aircraft at Trenton were part of the original base locations for the fleet. Bases were; Comox B.C., Greenwood. N.S., Gander, N.L and Trenton ON. The coastal bases saw much greater operational demand, ultimately resulting in the Trenton machines being cannibalized. Reportedly, some of the VH-71A's are to be reconfigured to CH-149 specs.
