Well he is translating it via a google app, surely a lot of the programming will simply be press button A adjust the reading, press button B to set etc... Its to operate the GPS guidance, I would have thought that wouldnt be to difficult. Heck I had L39 manuals that had been translated from Russian to Nigerian I think it was, then back into English, bar the odd wording such as tampon for rags, I could use them on the aircraft.
Either way, you would think something as basic as the manuals would be translated, it seems odd to post the guy away who knew how to use it before he had trained his replacement, but it might have been troop rotation etc.
