I was taken aback a couple of years ago, how quiet the A340 was - well, certainly in comparison to what I was expecting. I did LHR-CPT and back on SAA. But certainly comfort wise, the A380 takes some beating as does the A350. Certainly in the last few years of the BA 747, I always tried to avoid it and go for the B787 or the B777-300 if possible, purely because of IFE reliability!
I had the misfortune of a B767 LAS-YYZ trip a few years ago... not a nice aircraft to fly on in comparison to today's MH / LH offering.
