Another vote for the A350 here, I flew JNB-LHR-JNB last month, by Virgin in Premium, a very nice experience!
I flew in a Lufthansa A380 FFM -JNB-FFM downstairs in Economy back in 2012..a very quiet aeroplane, but the seats were as hard as rock!
i did their UC - wow probably the most uncomfortable set up I have experienced. Slumming it back on Monday in Economy “Delight” (!) But my September flight is in Premium. I objected to paying BA £100 +\- just for choosing seating in advance when Virgin offer it as part of their price.
down side is no A380 and arriving around 1000 rather than a little earlier - bit sporty if getting a domestic flight and intl is delayed for any reason.
