Hi DD, I think it would likely be an onerous task to get it qualified, I agree, supporting it once the work has been done is not a big burden. Safety trace information for use in the ranges is loose change compared to the other issues of the cost for it; what aircraft are you going to release it from; you have to get it cleared off that aircraft; if you do want to lase the weapon in what LDP will you use. LGTRs have been looked at years and years ago, but the juice was never worth the squeeze.
I’m sure we could get a policy change through to the JFS ESC if attacked at the right level.
