The issue is that G3’s take a lot of time and effort on the part of their supervising G1 to provide the necessary supervision (in whatever form the operator is approved to provide it as per the ops manual).

Being an FIR holder is definitely a feather in the hat for you, however, leg work is still required. You’ll still need to get in the car and go door knocking, put in a lot of hard work and eventually it should pay off, you just need to be persistent with it.

With regards to the LL rating, I would avoid at this stage. Are you wanting to be a mustering pilot? Or are you wanting to be an instructor? If you are wanting to be an instructor, save the money, and make yourself more employable in other ways, such as additional training endorsements etc.

Thanks for the tips - definitely instructing. Might just work on tailwheel etc until the break comes. Didn't think it would be this tough TBH!
