Isn’t a key input to this decision your aircraft’s undercarriage configuration?
Aren’t you guaranteed to flip if you ditch into the water in a fixed gear aircraft or with the undercarriage of a retractable undercarriage aircraft extended?
have a look at Paul Bertorelli's video where he does the stats on ditching. Gear doesn't seem to be that much of an issue.
