Interesting that you mention this. Back in the 70's the SH-2D had an LN-66 Marconi radar equipped which was, IIRC, a cut and paste from a ship based Marconi radar and (EW signature wise) nearly the same. For the SH-2F (which I flew in the 80's) they wanted more range and we had a modified LN-66 (the LN-66HP if memory serves) that had a unique signature. (Or so the EW shop told us).
There are plenty of good brains in China, I suspect they may be able to mod/upgrade some of that commercial stuff into improved kit.
